Episode 004: George Saunders

George Saunders is the author of the story collections In Persuasion Nation, Pastoralia, and CivilWarLand in Bad Decline, the short novel The Brief and Frightening Reign of Phil, and a children’s book, The Very Persistent Gappers of Frip. He lives in Syracuse, New York, where he teaches in the Syracuse Creative Writing program; last year he was awarded both a Guggenheim Fellowship and a MacArthur Fellowship for his work.

Saunders appeared in the Hollis Auditorium of Goldwin Smith Hall on March 8, 2007. This interview took place earlier the same day.
